SPRINGFIELD, Ill.- State Rep. Lilian Jiménez, D-Chicago, alongside Alderperson Jessie Fuentes of the 26th Ward are hosting a Blood Drive in the community and encourages those who are able to donate blood to consider doing so. The event will be held on Wednesday March 4th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mozart Park Clubroom (2036 N. Avers, Chicago, IL 60647).
“I am proud to collaborate with community partners to support neighbors in need,” said Jiménez. “Blood donation is a powerful act of collective care that directly saves lives. At a time when many communities face high demand and limited access to critical resources, coming together to donate is a meaningful way to show up for one another. We encourage everyone who is able to give blood to join us.”
According to the American Red Cross, in the U.S. someone needs blood every two seconds and one pint of blood can save up to three lives. These donations go to people of all ages and those with chronic conditions may require ongoing transfusions. Winter months often see a decline in donations at blood banks, so every donation counts.
This event is by appointment only. We encourage participants to register for a time slot by calling (800) 7TO-GIVE or going online and clicking on the link here.
