CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. – Encouraging residents from northwest Illinois communities to share their thoughts on top issues, state Rep. Suzanne Ness, D-Carpentersville, will host a virtual town hall March 3 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to discuss legislative priorities in response to Governor Pritzker’s annual budget proposal delivered Wednesday.

“It’s clear that there is much work ahead to combat the affordability crisis that’s impacting families across Illinois. Coming fresh off the governor’s annual budget address, now is not the time to be investing in new ventures—it’s time we meticulously go line by line to see what works for our families, what doesn’t, and how we can reinvest our savings to build a future we can all afford. We managed to significantly cut the cost of state government last year, and I’ll continue to target government waste to prioritize transparency and efficiency. Why? Because right now the federal government continues to cause confusion and anxiety with threatened cuts to services from VA hospitals to children’s daycares. It’s more important than ever that we prioritize the services families rely on daily to move Illinois in a better direction.”

The virtual town hall will take place Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. on Zoom and will be followed by a Q&A. Registration is required. To register, please use this link or email info@repsnessil66.com.
“I believe in meeting people where they are, and my goal is to make this town hall as accessible as possible so I can hear diverse perspectives and opinions from constituents,” Ness stated. “With
the governor’s budget plans now public, it’s essential that I connect with the community to pinpoint our greatest needs as we move into budget negotiations.”
