Vella Responds to Governor’s Budget Proposal

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. —State Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, released the following statement in response to Governor Pritzker’s annual budget address delivered this afternoon: 

“Today’s budget address made clear the consequential conversations needing to be had in the weeks and months ahead to move Rockford, Belvedere and our communities statewide in a better direction.” 

“Families in our community are focused on making ends meet, supporting their kids, and building stable futures. As I review the governor’s proposal, my priority is making sure the state budget reflects the everyday realities working families face and delivers real relief where it’s needed most.” 

“As the budget process moves forward, I’ll stay focused on making sure Rockford families, schools, and local businesses have the support they need. Our community deserves steady, smart investments and a budget that reflects our values of hard work, responsibility, and opportunity.”
