Stuart Responds to Governor’s Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Following Governor JB Pritzker’s budget address, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, releases the following statement:

“We just heard the governor’s budget address and now it’s time to do the hard work of building out a responsible, reasonable budget.

“Crafting a budget is difficult and extremely important work. With the policies and executive orders in Washington making life harder for everyday Americans, it’s more important than ever to make sure our budget supports predicted expenses, as well as unexpected funding cuts and holds.”

“I will work to ensure our budget works for everyone in our district and our communities, from the students at SIUE to the hardworking single parents who rely on social services to support their children.”
