SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State Rep. Margaret DeLaRosa, D-Lombard, issued the following statement in response to Gov. Pritzker’s Budget Address this afternoon, outlining next steps in the budget process and priorities for her community:

“It was great to hear from the Governor about the state budget for this year. Now, I’ll be spending the next couple months going through the proposed budget line by line to ensure we are doing everything we can to serve working families. Nationwide, people are struggling to make ends meet and the federal government’s continued funding cuts aren’t helping. At the state level, I am focused on supporting the services and programs that families rely on and providing relief where possible.

“Even in my short time as a representative, I have had so many productive, inspiring conversations. During my first legislative session, as I rework and revise the budget with my colleagues, I carry those conversations with me. I look forward to going through this process for the first time and making sure the needs of my district are accurately reflected in the final budget,” said DeLaRosa.
