BARTLETT, Ill. — As reassessment notices start to roll out for residents in Cook County’s suburbs, state Rep. Maura Hirschauer, D-West Chicago, will join Hanover Township, the Cook County Assessor’s Office and other elected officials to host a Property Tax Appeals Workshop this Thursday, November 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Many property owners are starting to receive their reassessment notices, an updated market value of their property. If this amount seems egregious, you deserve to have the right information and tools to file an appeal,” said Hirschauer. “This free event Thursday is a one stop shop for residents to learn, connect with helpful staff and file an appeal on the spot—a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of an already daunting and tedious process.”

The workshop will take place at the Hanover Township Senior Center (240 S. IL Route 59) in Bartlett. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about the appeals and assessment process, talk to County Assessor’s staff about concerns, and file an appeal at the event. The workshop is free and open to the public; registration is not required.
