MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. – State Rep. Nicolle Grasse, D-Arlington Heights, is celebrating the St. Raymond School’s boys cross country team, who recently won their second consecutive 1A Boys State Championship at the Illinois Elementary School Association’s Cross Country Finals. The team previously won the 2024 1A Boys State Championship, which was the school’s first cross country title.
“Congratulations to St. Raymond School! It’s always a joy to celebrate the incredible communities in our district,” Grasse said. “Winning a state championship is impressive—but winning two in a row, while keeping up with academics, family and faith, shows true dedication and commitment.”
The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) organizes 19 state-level finals events for over 500,000 student-athletes annually. The IESA’s 2025 Cross Country Finals were held in Normal, Illinois on October 18. St. Raymond School’s girls cross country team placed third in the same event.
“Extracurricular sports bring our communities together and help our kids make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime,” said Grasse. “Congratulations to St. Raymond School and the success that both of their teams had this year.”
