ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – State Rep. Nicolle Grasse, D-Arlington Heights, is congratulating the Arlington Heights Farmers Market on recently being ranked as the best farmers market in the state of Illinois, and the third best in the Midwestern United States, by a poll from American Farmland Trust.
“Farmers markets are so important to the communities they serve,” Grasse said. “They expand access to fresh food, provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and serve as vital gathering spaces in our neighborhoods.”
The American Farmland Trust’s 17th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration poll consisted of 1,263 farmers markets nationwide, which were voted on by over 60,000 participants. The Village of Arlington Heights received the most votes statewide. The Arlington Heights Farmers Market is typically held on W. Fremont Street and is open from early May through mid October. The market closed out their 2025 season earlier this month.
“Is there any better way to end a season than by being named the best farmers market in the state?” Grasse said. “It takes many hands to make organizations like these a success. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in that success over the past season, and of course, thank you to our hardworking farmers and agricultural partners. Without you, none of this would be possible.”
