CHICAGO — State Rep. Lisa Davis, D-Chicago, is working to connect homeowners struggling with high property taxes with relief by encouraging those who have faced a sharp rise in their property tax bills to apply for support through the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund.

“Across the city and south suburbs, we’ve seen property taxes continue and rise and more families and seniors pushed out of their homes,” Davis said. “While I’m fighting to reform this broken system that puts the heaviest burden on those with the least, I also want to make sure people know about the immediate relief that is available.”

Davis is highlighting the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund, which will provide one-time payments of $1,000 to households that can demonstrate a 50% or greater increase in their property tax bills in 2021, 2022, or 2023.
