AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is urging Illinoisans to use Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) guidance this fall, despite shifting federal positions, which remain confused and chaotic.
“With the chaos in the federal government, continuing to listen to the doctors and researchers who have dedicated their lives to promoting public health is essential. In this case, that means adhering to the IDPH’s science-informed recommendations for this fall,” Hernandez said. “The Trump administration has politicized vaccines and other time-tested health measures to a dangerous degree and we can’t let their extremism endanger our communities.”
Following extensive scientific review and debate, the IDPH released a comprehensive list of vaccination recommendations and public health best practices that is available at:

Vaccines are available at Aurora VNA Health Clinics located at:
-500 Tomcat Lane;
-400 North Highland Avenue;
-1400 Indian Avenue; and
-323 Weston Avenue.

“Whether we’re talking about stifling the growth of clean energy, denying the impacts of climate change or undercutting the importance of vaccinations, Trump attacks on science are coming from every direction,” Hernandez said. “Despite these difficulties, experts in a range of fields are still doing good work, and it’s vital we keep listening to them.”
