OTTAWA, Ill. – Working to improve housing, healthcare and public safety solutions for older adults in Northwest Illinois, state Rep. Amy “Murri” Briel, D-Ottawa, invites community members aged 60 years or older to a new Senior Advisory Committee Kick Off on Monday, July 21st, at 3 p.m. at Briel’s Ottawa district office.

The Senior Advisory Committee is for constituents of the 76th district ages 60 years or older, and is an initiative led by Briel to collaborate with seniors and discuss issues affecting their age group — including agriculture, affordable housing, healthcare access and public safety solutions.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for older adults to get together and discuss hyperlocal issues that impact our neighborhoods,” said Briel. “I’m excited for this new advisory committee to corral the decades of experiences our seniors have to offer insight, perspective and the priorities that are essential to improve our Northwest Illinois communities.”

The event will be held at Briel’s district office at 628 Columbus Street (Suite #408) in Ottawa and is wheelchair accessible with assistance available. Light refreshments will be provided. Those interested are encouraged to RSVP by emailing contact@statrepbriel.com or calling (815) 587-7912.
