OTTAWA, Ill. – Encouraging residents from Northwest Illinois communities to share their thoughts on the issues that matter most to them, state Rep. Amy “Murri” Briel, D-Ottawa, will host a series of local town halls later this summer in Dekalb, Utica and Oglesby communities.

“This is a great opportunity for local residents to get together as we dive into the most important issues facing our state and communities, and discuss hyperlocal issues that impact our neighborhoods across Northwest Illinois,” said Briel. “It’s been a challenging year where Illinois has had to gear up and make tough choices. I’m eager to sit with my neighbors in this series of town halls to discuss our needs and values that will continue to guide my work.”

Briel will kick off her town hall series July 11 at 6 p.m. at Northern Illinois University’s Holmes Student Center (340 Carroll Ave, Dekalb).

Interested residents are required to RSVP for the events through this form: Town Hall RSVP. Respondents can select the town hall they wish to attend, and specific location details will be sent via email prior to the event.
