Saturday: Grasse To Host Senior and Veteran Resource Fair

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – Raising awareness of state resources and aid available for older Illinoisans and retired service members, State Rep. Nicolle Grasse, D-Arlington Heights,
will join local organizations and policymakers to host a Senior & Veteran Resource Fair at the Plum Grove Banquet Hall in Palatine (4001 Park Dr.) on Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 2p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for our neighbors to get connected locally to a variety of valuable information, resources, and services that are specifically tailored to our older residents and veterans in the Northwest Suburbs,” said Grasse. “Veterans and seniors can learn about a wide range of resources available to them, such as legal assistance, housing support, and food distribution services; support so they can take a more active role in managing their lives independently.”

Organizations in attendance include Hines VA Hospital staff, Cook County Health, iCash, Rolling Meadows Department of Human Services, and the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs. Grasse will be joined by state Rep. Nabeela Syed (D-Palatine), state Sen. Mark Walker (D-Arlington Heights) and Cook County Commissioners Maggie Trevor and Kevin Morrison.

“This event brings together these local organizations and businesses seamlessly so seniors and veterans don’t have to travel to multiple locations to seek resources or aid. I look forward to seeing my local neighbors connected with these phenomenal services in the Northwest Suburbs,” said Grasse.
