Gordon-Booth Reacts to Governor’s Budget Address, Highlights Need to Prioritize Family Concerns

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, issued the following statement Wednesday after the governor’s annual budget address:

“With uncertainty in Washington, it’s critically important that we deliver a responsible state budget that understands our values and works to address the pressing needs of families. We must continue to invest in our children at every step of the education process, strengthen support for commonsense public safety efforts and look to drive down daily costs for residents.

“The governor’s proposal is the first step in a longer process that will hear from stakeholders across our state. I’m focused on ensuring that Peoria has a seat at the table, and am looking forward to the work ahead.”
