SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid, D-Bridgeview, is starting his second term with an emphasis on addressing the rising cost-of-living, tackling corruption, regulation of artificial intelligence (A.I.) and combating climate change.

“I am proud to be sworn in as a member of the General Assembly for a second time to represent our communities in Springfield,” said Rashid. “A lot has changed in the two years since I first took office, but I am determined more than ever to press forward and help enact innovative policy solutions to the many complex problems that face our state and country.”

Rashid was sworn in as a Representative of the 104th General Assembly on Wednesday, January 8. Rashid represents the 21st House District, which includes parts of Chicago’s southwest side, and the suburban communities in Bedford Park, Berwyn, Bridgeview, Brookfield, Cicero, Countryside, Hodgkins, Justice, La Grange, La Grange Park, North Riverside, Riverside and Summit.

“We will not shy away from taking bold action to rein in new technologies, keep communities clean, and strengthen our social safety nets to ensure that no Illinoisan is ever alone in these tough times. Most importantly, it means listening to those who we represent and speaking up for them,” said Rashid.
