MASCOUTAH, Ill. – State Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, recently visited Boeing’s Mascoutah facility where he viewed firsthand the aircraft company’s efforts to ramp up production of the MQ-25 Stingray – an aerial refueling drone developed for the U.S. Navy.
“After years of investment and hard work, it’s exciting to see this facility ready to meet production demands,” Hoffman said. “Boeing has become an important partner for our region’s economy, and we can already see the strong benefits it has had on local job creation and development. This plant also
reflects our community’s proud heritage when it comes to supporting our armed forces, and further positions us as a leader in our nation’s defense.”
Boeing expects to begin full production of its MQ-25 Stingrays this year, and more than 70 are planned to be built at the Mascoutah facility. Located next to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport and Scott Air Force Base, the Boeing plant is expected to employ up to 300 workers when fully operational.
