SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Following Wednesday’s Inauguration ceremony, state Representative Matt Hanson has been sworn in for a second term in the Illinois House of Representatives, and is sharing his hopes for the coming months.
“Two years ago when I took my oath of office for the first time, it was with a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to serve the families and businesses that make up my community,” Hanson said. “Today, I feel that same gratitude for the continued trust of my neighbors and community members. I look forward to resuming the people’s work on behalf of my constituents.”
A union worker and railroad engineer, Hanson has prioritized the needs of working families during his first term, and will look to continue that work in the year to come. Among Hanson’s priorities for the coming session are transit reform that protects taxpayers and improves the quality of service for riders, commonsense gun safety, reducing the cost of living, and improving the quality of retirement benefits for hardworking families.
“We keep Illinois moving forward by being attentive to the issues that impact the daily lives of those around us and being persistent in coming up with smart solutions to those issues,” Hanson said. “That’s exactly what I’ve tried to do since first arriving in Springfield, and it’s exactly what I look forward to continuing to do in the months ahead.”
