NAPERVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, is inviting members of the community to help her clean up the DuPage River at Knoch Knolls Park on Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon, continuing her advocacy for environmental protection and the preservation of Illinois’ habitats.

“As state representative, I have always been a strong defender of our state’s natural beauty, both continually emphasizing the need for common sense safeguards against reckless economic development and for comprehensive action on climate change,” Yang Rohr said. “Legislation is critical for protecting our environment, but local action has an equally important role to play. Saturday’s cleanup of the DuPage River brings the community together to help protect this beautiful natural resource and thriving wildlife habitat.”

On Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon, Yang Rohr will join teachers and students for a riverway cleanup event of the west branch of the DuPage River at Knoch Knolls Park at 320 Knoch Knolls Road. To RSVP and join the cleanup effort, visit repyangrohr.com/events.

Saturday’s event follows recent action taken by Yang Rohr to designate September as Waterway Cleanup Month (House Bill 4130), encouraging communities across Illinois to take back their local parks and waterways from litter and degradation.
