SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, was recently honored by the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) with a 100% rating in recognition of her commitment to legislation that prioritizes green jobs, sustainable innovation, and wildlife and land conservation.
“Since I first took office, I have always advocated for legislation that uplifts and improves our communities,” said Scherer. “In Central Illinois, we love the great outdoors, clean air and potable drinking water. And I will never stop fighting for these fundamental rights.”
Scherer received a 100% rating from the IEC in recognition of her voting record that reflected her commitment to prioritizing legislation that protects our environment and wildlife. From legislation regulating carbon capture and sequestration to the dedication of new money to protect our wetlands, prairies and forests, Scherer was at the forefront of efforts to keep Illinois clean and green.
“Our commitment to grow our economy does not have to be in conflict with our need to protect the environment,” said Scherer. “I will always stand up and support sensible policies that protect our state’s natural resources and environment for generations to come.”
