Rep. Barbara Hernandez Announces ‘First Friday’ Event with Marie Wilkinson’s Food Pantry

AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, will be joined by Marie Wilkinson’s Food Pantry at her monthly ‘First Friday’ event on Friday, September 6th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.,
at 1 E. Benton Street, Suite 101 in Aurora, to give out food boxes and accept donations of non- perishable foods.

“As summer comes to a close, I hope everyone will join me for another First Friday. This month, we are joined by Marie Wilkinson’s Food Pantry, a leader in Aurora’s non-profit community, which was founded to help provide basic life necessities to households in-need,” Hernandez said. “None of our neighbors should have to go through life without enough food to eat, and I hope this event can be another step towards eliminating that problem.”

Marie Wilkinson’s Food Pantry will be giving out 100 food boxes. Attendees can come to receive a box and learn more about the pantry. Donations of non-perishable foods will be accepted during the event. People can call 630-270-1848 to register.
