Avelar Hosts Local Back-to-School Fairs

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — In preparation for the upcoming school year, state Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, will host two back-to-school fairs for students to receive free school supplies, physicals and vaccines, and other resources to ensure local children have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for all our local students to gear up for the school year with free supplies, resources, and physicals,” said Avelar. “It’s so important that every child starts the school year on an equal footing. Access to the right supplies and health services ensures they can focus on learning and thriving in the classroom. I look forward to seeing students and families in our community enjoy this free event as we prepare for another exciting school year!”

Avelar will host the 3rd Annual Fairmont Back to School Fair on Saturday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fairmont School in Lockport (735 Green Garden Place).

Avelar’s Valley View School District Back to School Fair will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Annerino Center in Bolingbrook (201 Recreation Drive).

Free school supplies will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis during the fairs. Students looking to schedule a school physical, sports physical, and/or immunizations at either event are required to schedule an appointment with VNA Health, which can be reached at (630) 435-8653.
