CHICAGO – Dedicated to local conservation efforts, state Rep. Lindsey LaPointe is hosting an environmental fair, “EnviroFest,” highlighting planet-friendly organizations and businesses from across the community on Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Park Fieldhouse in Chicago (4822 N Long Ave).

“Thanks to Senator Martwick’s office collaboration and the work of our office’s environmental advisory council — a group made up of NW side neighbors passionate about taking care of our planet — EnviroFest will feature over a dozen local organizations, businesses, and advocates that are dedicated to cultivating a greener future for Chicago. This event offers a handful of opportunities to engage with educational panels on native plants, flood mitigation, green infrastructure, and more,” said LaPointe. “Tackling climate change is not just a global challenge; it is a collective local responsibility. Every action we take, from recycling to reducing energy consumption, impacts our environment and future generations. I hope this event will inspire many of our neighbors to take sustainable action here on the Northwest Side.”

Organizations in attendance include the Department of Natural Resources, Northwest Home Equity Assurance Program, Collective Resource Comport, Community Spirit Garden, Cook County Forest Preserves, and others.

As a member of the Green Caucus, LaPointe helped pass Illinois’ landmark Clean Energy Jobs law, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, which puts the state on a path to 100% clean energy by 2050. She has supported multiple environmental bills led by the Illinois Environmental Council and the Sierra Club, including legislation on the state’s water quality and affordability.

This event is free to the public. To RSVP for this event, please contact Info@RepLaPointe.com or 773-647-1174.
