PEORIA, Ill. – With four entries remaining in the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association’s (IMA) annual “Makers Madness,” state Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, is highlighting participating local companies and encouraging residents to learn more about unique items made in Illinois.

“Our region continues to produce unique, cutting-edge products that are built by workers right here,” Gordon-Booth said. “Once again this year we saw great entries from Caterpillar and Komatsu, and with only four entries left, I’m rooting to see our locally-made equipment recognized.”

Residents can vote for this year’s “coolest thing made in Illinois” at https://makersmadnessil.com/ from now through Sunday, April 7. Among the final four is the roughly 26-foot tall 980 E-4 Komatsu Mining Truck. Although eliminated earlier in voting, Caterpillar’s D11 Dozer also made this year’s field of 16 after more than 200 products were nominated.

This year marks the fifth annual “Makers Madness,” an initiative of IMA that promotes manufacturing and highlights Illinois companies and workers.

Results of the vote and a winner will be announced April 10.
