Hoffman and Belt Visit Shiloh, Highlight Work Together to Support Community

SHILOH, Ill. – State Sen. Christopher Belt, D-Swansea and state Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, joined Shiloh’s Village Board of Trustees’ Committee at Large meeting Monday to discuss state support for local projects, including $4 million for a new police station to reflect the needs of the growing community.

“With the growing community, it’s imperative we are able to keep up with the demands of residents,” said Belt. “By investing in projects that enhance public safety and improve our quality of life, we are meeting the needs of the community and laying the foundation for a vibrant future.”

“It’s critical that we continue to invest in infrastructure and community services that families depend on,” said Hoffman. “I appreciate the partnership and advocacy from village leaders, and am particularly excited to see the police department project move forward.”

In this fiscal year’s state budget, Hoffman and Belt pushed for funding to support numerous village priorities, including:

• $4 million for the Shiloh Police Department for building acquisition and renovation,
• $650,000 for infrastructure improvements at Yorktown Golf Course, and
• $100,000 for road and sewer infrastructure improvements.
