Rep. Mason Responds to Budget Address, Prioritizes Major Childcare Expansions, Robust Education Spending

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, issued the following response to Gov. Pritzker’s State of the State address on Wednesday:

“This budget address showed an encouraging foundation for the budget I will soon begin to craft with my colleagues in the House, specifically its focus on major expansions to affordable childcare and robust education spending. As Chair of the House Child Care Accessibility and Early Childhood Education Committee, I know that assisting families-especially working families-with the financial burdens of childcare is essential. Providing affordable childcare and high quality early childhood education for the families of Illinois will set so many little ones on a trajectory for success and wellbeing in adulthood. Budget dollars that go towards that cause are always well-spent.”
