SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, issued the following statement after the Governor’s State of the State and Budget Address, emphasizing strong fiscal decision making and continued funding for local schools:
“In the months to come, I will continue using my financial expertise to go line-by-line through the budget, and advance common sense solutions to financial challenges. In this coming budget, we have much to do to secure the financial future for working families, especially when it comes to supporting our young people as they pursue their educational goals and righting decades of pension mismanagement. I’m honored to have lent my insight and bring my community’s values and voice to get Springfield working again. That’s why I’m looking forward to highlighting the need for better funded schools, more affordable childcare, and expanding access to college financial aid, while also focusing on ways to cut our state’s debt and liability burdens.”
