Jimenez Champions Health Equity, Following Governor’s Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Lilian Jimenez, D-Chicago, will highlight healthcare needs in state budget talks.

“Today’s Budget and State of the State Address illustrates that Springfield is unified in the belief that we must do more to uplift historically underserved communities, especially when it comes to health outcomes and access to services. Relief for those overburdened by medical debt, low rates of health insurance in Latino, immigrant and Black communities, and health clinic deserts are all issues we can and must tackle moving forward. I am encouraged by the Governor’s commitment to these and other healthcare issues, but as budget conversations begin, I will continue to advocate for the common sense solutions my community depends on.”
