SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State Rep. Mary Beth Canty, D-Arlington Heights, issued this statement on Wednesday in response to Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s annual budget address:
“Today we heard an encouraging outline of budget priorities that will continue to take Illinois in the right direction by prioritizing childcare, healthcare and education-among other things. I am currently fighting for a measure to provide tax credits to working parents, which will work in conjunction with the pro-family goals set forth in this budget. More affordable healthcare, a robust education system and universal childcare are goals I have focused on for years. I’m pleased to learn coming months will have us craft a budget that puts substantial funding towards those areas while continuing to get Illinois’s fiscal house in order.”
