Andrade Encourages Fiscal Accountability and Job Advocacy in Upcoming Budget Talk

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jaime Andrade Jr, D-Chicago, issued the following statement after the Governor’s State of the State and Budget Address, emphasizing strong fiscal decision making:

“As we begin the process of building another smart, compassionate state budget, I will continue to emphasize the importance of securing the financial future of working families by opening up opportunities for 21st century careers through comprehensive career training and permanently ending the grocery tax. Rising costs and shrinking incomes are putting our communities in a bind. Springfield needs to step up and do everything it can to alleviate these financial pressures. By passing balanced budgets, prioritizing long-term decisions, and making smart investments in the services families depend on, we’ll create the foundation for an Illinois where all have a fair shot.”
