ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – In order to celebrate the addition of a new job creator in the community, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, attended the groundbreaking ceremony last week for the new Hollywood Casino at the Rock Run Collection property. The $185 million project is expected to bring nearly a thousand permanent and temporary jobs into the Joliet area as well as millions of dollars in new economic activity. In addition to the casino, the property is expected to have a variety of other shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities, marking a massive investment in the Joliet region that will provide a number of benefits to existing and new residents.
“While the Joliet region has seen a variety of new investments over the past few years, the construction of the Hollywood Casino is a landmark moment for our community,” said Manley. “Between the new jobs created, the new tax revenue it will generate, and the new entertainment and recreation opportunities it will create for residents, this is a massive project that will immediately pay off for residents. I would like to thank the many stakeholders involved in making this project a reality for their efforts in bringing this investment in our community, and I look forward to continuing to work with local officials and the business community to make the Joliet region a hotspot for new economic activity now and in the future.”
