PEORIA, Ill. – Children of incarcerated parents and foster care youth will be the focus for holiday fun at state Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth’s, D-Peoria, annual “A Mother’s Wish” event scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. at Warehouse on State, located at 736 SW Washington St. in Peoria.

“Not every child has the opportunity to be with their biological family at this time of year, which can be incredibly difficult,” Gordon-Booth said. “That’s why every year we come together as a community to celebrate these kids individually and make them feel special. I’m grateful for the wonderful donations from our sponsors, and am looking forward to another great holiday experience.”

This year’s event will be the fifth annual A Mother’s Wish, and will include hours of games, karaoke, food and more. Thanks to the generosity of community sponsors, attending children will also receive toys and gifts to take home.

Supporters of the event include Meridian, Dr. Babis Rammos, Advanced Medical Transport of Central Illinois, HealthChoice Illinois and Laura Schachtrup Cullinan in honor of Linda Schachtrup.
