CHICAGO – Continuing his commitment to supporting minority-owned businesses in his community, state Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, is touting new “Building Blocks of Success” workshops presented by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for new and existing Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) throughout December.
“Businesses in my community continue to struggle bouncing back from the COVID-19 pandemic, and store doors remain shut because we haven’t been as responsive as we can be,” Andrade said. “IDOT and I want to change that. These workshops will help those corner stores and family-owned restaurants break through institutional barriers to capital investment and government contracts.”
The Building Blocks of Success program was designed to remedy ongoing discrimination facing DBEs. December workshops will help owners strengthen their skills and open up opportunities for state contracts. Registration is required.
