CHICAGO — State Rep. Sonya M. Harper, D-Chicago, is extending an invitation to residents for an informative online workshop aimed at addressing the historical impacts of discrimination in loan programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The virtual workshop is scheduled for Thursday evening, Oct. 26, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. It will be conducted through the Zoom platform. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to Representative Harper’s office with questions or concerns.

With a looming deadline of Jan. 13, 2024, Representative Harper underscores the importance of this workshop, emphasizing that it serves as a vital resource for those who have been affected by past USDA loan discrimination. The goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to claim what they rightfully deserve.

“January 13th is fast approaching, and we want to ensure that everyone impacted by historical USDA loan discrimination can access the support they are entitled to,” Harper said. “We invite you to join us for this workshop and become well-informed about your rights and opportunities.”
