NAPERVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, is seeking submissions to the inaugural Community Photo Contest to spotlight artistic talent in the community and capture the beauty of the 41st District. Winning submissions will be displayed in Springfield and made into a canvas print for the winner.

“Arts and culture play an integral role in showcasing what makes our community so unique,” Yang Rohr said. “It is important to create space for artistic expression. This is an exciting opportunity for community members to tell a story about our district with the photos they capture.”

The Community Photo Contest is open to all residents in the 41st District. All photos must be taken within the 41st District and be of high quality and resolution. Additionally, if the photo includes any individual who is personally identifiable, affirmed consent from those individuals is required. Please limit submissions to one photo per person.

Residents can email their photo to Photo@RepYangRohr.com with the subject line “41st District Photo Contest Submission.” Contestants must include their name, mailing address, phone number, where the photo was taken and a brief title for the photo. Accompanying statements explaining why the subject matter is meaningful to the photographer and the community are also welcome. The deadline to submit original works is Oct. 31. Community voting will take place in November, with winners announced at the Winter Open House on Dec.16.
