PALATINE, Ill. – State Rep. Nabeela Syed, D-Palatine, is holding a town hall to hear from the Palatine community about their thoughts and answer questions on the future of solar energy in Illinois. The town hall will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Palatine Village Hall on 200 East Wood Street in Palatine. Syed will be joined by Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) Solar Ambassador Peter Gorr to walk people through the process of going solar as well as to answer questions.

“Illinois has recently undertaken substantial steps to take advantage of solar energy opportunities, such as passing the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act,” Syed said. “Many homeowners and businesses now have the chance to be part of a greener future and save money on their electric bills. Please join me to learn more.”

The town hall will cover how solar energy works, including information about installation process for solar panels and what those whose homes are not suitable can do. It will also cover upfront costs as well as long-term savings, including incentives specific to Illinois.
