ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – In order to ensure parents have the resources they need, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is partnering with Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, state Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel, and state Rep. Dee Avelar to host a Diaper Depot Drive, which collects a variety of items for babies that will be distributed for free to parents in need by the United Way of Will County.

“With the many difficulties that new parents face, the last thing they need is to be forced into making tough financial decisions in order to provide basic care for their baby,” said Manley. “It takes a village to raise a child, which is why I encourage residents to come together and help the new parents in our community by donating essential items for babies at our Diaper Depot Drive this week.”

The Diaper Depot Drive is collecting diapers, wipes, baby wash, baby lotion, and diaper cream from residents through Friday, July 21. Those looking to make donations can drop off items at the following locations:

  • Bolingbrook Town Center, 375 W. Briarcliff Rd., Bolingbrook
  • Crest Hill City Hall, 20600 City Center Blvd., Crest Hill
  • Lockport City Hall, 222 E. 9th St., Lockport
  • Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago St., Joliet
  • Workforce Center of Will County, 2400 Glenwood Ave., Joliet
  • Plainfield Village Administration, 24401 Lockport St., Plainfield
  • Romeoville Police Department, 1050 W. Romeo Rd., Romeoville
  • Shorewood Village Hall, 1 Towne Center Blvd., Shorewood

“As a mother and grandmother, I know how difficult it can be to raise a child, especially when money is tight,” said Manley. “While I continue my work to secure more resources for parents and their children, I want to thank members of the community who have taken the time to give back and help their neighbors in their time of need.”
