ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — To highlight local parks and encourage community members to enjoy the outdoors, state Rep. Mary Beth Canty is hosting a Summer Park Hunt activity from now until Aug. 15.

“Our community is home to 7 different park districts, and this summer is the perfect opportunity to explore them and enjoy the great outdoors,” Canty said. “As a parent, I’m always looking for ways to keep my children busy and encourage them to get outside, so I invite all of our community’s parents, children, and families to participate in this free activity.”

Event participants must print out the Parks Passport, visit a park listed on the passport, find and scan the QR code, and answer the question for the park. Once all the questions are answered, bring or mail the passport to Canty’s district office located at 12 East Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights for a prize. Passports are available at www.repmbc.com/2023summerpassport

“I’d like to thank the Arlington Heights Park District, Buffalo Grove Park District, Mount Prospect Park District, Palatine Parks District, Prospect Heights Park District, River Trails Park District, and Salt Creek Park District for partnering with us for this summer activity,” Canty said. “When local governments work together, great things happen for our communities.”

The activity is free, but participation is limited to constituents of the 54th district. For more information, please contact Canty’s office at info.repmbc@gmail.com or by calling 224-248-8187.
