EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Following Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s annual Budget Address on Wednesday, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, issued the following statement:
“Today’s address had a lot of good news for advocates of education at all levels. As a former teacher, I know how important it is to invest in both early education and in technical education as well as training for in-demand skilled careers.
“Preparing young children to be better learners and young adults to thrive in the economy of the future are both laudable goals and promise to pay dividends if the related policies are thoughtfully implemented.
“To that end, I’ll be carefully reviewing the governor’s full budget proposal and working to ensure that the vision he laid out for us today is fully realized for everyone in Illinois.”
