PLAINFIELD, Ill. – Following Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s annual ‘State of the State’ and Budget Address to the General Assembly on Wednesday, state Rep. Harry Benton, D-Plainfield, issued the following statement:

“I came to Springfield to speak up for middle class families and to represent something different from the typical norm. As a husband and father and a proud union member and ironworker, I want to represent the interests of everyday working families across our state.

“I’m going to make sure the common sense voices of our community are part of the budget-making process, so I will be reviewing the proposed budget in detail over the coming weeks and I look forward to listening to our community and providing constructive feedback to ensure that the budget we pass does the best job possible for the families and workers who make up the beating heart of Illinois.”
