DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – State Rep. Anne Stava-Murray, D-Downers Grove, will redouble her efforts to improve and develop health policy and advocate for health equity in Illinois as Chairperson of the House Public Health Committee. She is also set to help lead the way in promoting justice through her role as a member of both the Ethics & Elections Committee and the Judiciary: Criminal Committee.

“People in our communities have been clear that these are their priorities: equity and opportunity, justice and fairness,” Stava-Murray said. “These committees allow me to deliver on these issues, by fighting for affordable health care, defending the rights of voters, and building the smart justice system that will keep us all safe.”

Stava-Murray believes healthcare is a human right and intends to develop legislation that will make healthcare more affordable. She also plans on working to expand options available to elderly Illinoisans in need of health services.

“Whether it be through ensuring health care, including lifesaving prescription drugs like insulin, is accessible to everyone in Illinois and that future public health emergencies do not disproportionately impact vulnerable communities; through protecting the impartiality and integrity of elections or through keeping Illinois on the cutting edge of equal justice and responsible law enforcement—I will work every day to craft and pursue policies aimed at moving our state forward.”

Stava-Murray’s office is reachable at 630-605-0595 or office@repstavamurray.com.
