WAUKEGAN, Ill. – State Rep. Rita Mayfield, D-Waukegan, in collaboration with state Sen. Adriane Johnson, is hosting a Community Resource and Jobs Fair for the benefit of area residents on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Patricia A. Jones Center (formerly known as Park Place), 414 S. Lewis Ave, in Waukegan.

“For any member of our community needing assistance or services, this is a great chance to access those resources,” Mayfield said. “Whatever you may need, from a library card, to a passport to a new job—I hope you will join us and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”

Services offered at no additional cost include mobile ID Services through the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, I-Cash services provided by the Office of the Illinois Treasurer, passport services via Waukegan Township, healthcare and insurance access information from both Meridian and Health Choice Illinois, internet services information from Connect Waukegan, and youth and family services via SGA. Residents are advised that no “Real ID” services can be offered at the event and that no cash will be accepted for services requiring payment.

Employers will also be on hand to meet with interested applicants. Participants are to include Lakeside Transportation, PACE, Healthcare Plus, Mano a Mano, the Waukegan Public Library, the Allendale Association, the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County and the National Youth Advocate Program.

“Individuals who attend this event can benefit immensely from the array of services and opportunities on offer,” Mayfield said. “I hope to see a big turnout. Join us!”
