SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Laura Faver-Dias, D-Grayslake, begins her first term in office, with a focus on lowering property taxes, improving education, protecting a women’s right to access essential health care and supporting our small businesses.
“Growing up the daughter of small business owners, I saw firsthand the challenges facing small businesses. Throughout my career I have always placed a great emphasis on helping others, maintaining a can-do attitude and thinking outside the box,” said Faver-Dias. “As a mom to two wonderful boys and a village trustee, this is personal for me. I’m going to do my best to make sure our communities continue to flourish.”
Faver-Dias took the oath of office for the 103rd General Assembly, becoming the new state representative for the 62nd district. As a representative, Faver-Dias will prioritize finding solutions to support our schools and students, lower property taxes and help small businesses meet the challenges of the 21st century. In addition, Faver-Dias will continue to make sure Illinois is a state that honors a woman’s right to access essential healthcare.
“I’m very excited to join my colleagues in the General Assembly and fight to make the essential changes to improve the lives of families across Illinois,” said Faver-Dias. “Being a voice of reason and compassion in Springfield is what I ran for office to do. It’s time to get to work!”
Faver-Dias represents the 62nd District, which includes Grayslake, Hainesville, Libertyville, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Round Lake, Green Oaks, Wildwood and unincorporated areas of Lake County.
