CHICAGO – State Rep. Edgar Gonzalez Jr., D-Chicago, was sworn in Thursday, continuing his service to the 23rd District.
“I am honored to serve the residents of the 23rd District as state representative, a role I’ve held since I was first elected at 23 years old in January 2020,” Gonzalez said. “As the incoming Joint Chair of the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus, I look forward to working with my colleagues in both chambers to advance legislation that uplifts immigrant and working families and highlights expanding resources for our most vulnerable. With recent attacks on undocumented immigrants and all Illinoisans feeling the impact of inflation, it is imperative that our caucus and this House session put forward comprehensive legislation to address the problems all of our families are facing.”
