CHICAGO – As a new legislative session approaches, state Rep. Fran Hurley is encouraging residents to share their thoughts on potential laws that would help and support the local community.

“I’m currently in the process of reviewing ideas for legislation I will introduce this upcoming session,” Hurley said. “These ideas are often generated by local residents and organizations who are focused on addressing challenges area families face. Whether your idea is big or small, I want to hear from you.”

Residents who wish to submit a bill idea can email Hurley’s office at RepFranHurley@gmail.com.

Hurley and her staff will review submissions, and may have them drafted for consideration in Springfield. Not every idea will be introduced in the General Assembly. Interested residents should submit their thoughts by Jan. 1, 2023.

Additionally, Hurley is highlighting a way state employees can provide suggestions to make state government more efficient and effective. The State Government Suggestion Award Board can reward up to $5000 to individuals who provide ideas that result in financial savings for the state and taxpayers. Further information and a submission link are available at https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/gov/SGSAB/Pages/default.aspx.
