Rep. Hernandez Hosts Community Dia de los Muertos Celebration

CICERO, Ill. — State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, will be hosting a community altar in honor of Dia de los Muertos and is asking residents to participate. Area residents are encouraged to share photographs of loved ones that they’d like to include in this memorial.

“On Dia de los Muertos, we celebrate the rich lives of those we have loved and lost. This bittersweet occasion is a great opportunity to come together as a community while we honor the lives of the deceased,” Hernandez said. “I invite everyone to send a photo of their loved ones to be included in our office’s ofrenda. There’s nothing we value more than our community, and we want to make sure everyone is included as we remember the departed.”

Community members can bring in photographs to Hernandez’s district office located at 6117 West Cermak Road in Cicero. They can also email photos to Office@RepEHernandez.com or message them to Representative Hernandez’s official Facebook page at  https://www.facebook.com/StateRepLisaHernandez. Photos will be accepted until Monday, Oct. 31 and displayed until Nov. 4.
