EVANSTON, Ill. – State Rep. Robyn Gabel, D-Evanston, and state Sen. Laura Fine will be holding a community resource fair to help connect local residents with essential services. The fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Robert Crown Community Center on 1801 Main Street in Evanston.
“Senator Fine and I are joining with representatives from municipal, state and federal agencies, as well as local partner organizations to bring essential services to our communities,” Gabel said. “I was elected to help build bridges between the people I represent and the groups and government agencies who can provide them with resources. This will be a free event open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.”
Representatives from local, municipal, county, state and federal agencies will be in attendance. These include Connections for the Homeless, Counseling Center of the North Shore, the Evanston Vet Center, Meals on Wheels Northeastern Illinois, Special Gifts Theater and YMCA Evanston/North Shore. Government offices include the Evanston Fire Department, the County Assessor’s Office, Get Covered Illinois, the Department of Human Services, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky’s office, Senator Tammy Duckworth’s office and many others.
The event is free and open to the public. Email contact@robyngabel.com or call 847-424-5401 with any other questions.
“I’d like to thank all of our many participants for their commitments to bring their services directly to our community,” Gabel said. “Events like this can be extremely beneficial for people, especially when they include contributions from other institutions.”
