Rep. Hernandez to Host Su Estado a Su Alcance Community Resource Fair

CICERO, Ill. — State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, in partnership with Town of Cicero President Larry Dominick, is hosting Su Estado a Su Alcance: Your State at Your Reach, a one stop shop for community members to take advantage of state and local resources. The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cicero Community Center at 2250 S. 49th Ave. in Cicero.

“The State of Illinois offers a wealth of resources for families and community members in need, but navigating the bureaucracy to get assistance can be intimidating and difficult,” Hernandez said. “At Su Estado a Su Alcance, we’re bringing these resources directly to our community so that anyone who needs them can easily get the help they deserve.”

Event attendees will be provided with vital information, such as how to apply for food assistance, Medicaid, Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers or federal student financial aid. Area nonprofit organizations and government agencies will also be available to assist residents.

“As your state representative, my top priority is to provide our community with the resources and support we need to thrive,” Hernandez said. “I invite everyone to join us for Su Estado a Su Alcance to learn more about what your state can do for you, and to take advantage of the resources available.”
