NAPERVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, and state Sen. Laura Ellman are celebrating community public safety heroes at ‘Heroes & Helicopters: A Community Safety Showcase’ at Frontier Sports Complex, 3380 Cedar Glade Dr., on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.. The event connects members of the community with organizations that cultivate safety and community.
“I’m so excited to host this event, bring different organizations together and show what we all do to protect, cultivate and support our community,” Yang Rohr said. “Local libraries, fire departments, and so many other organizations will be able to talk with everyone from young kids to our senior citizens about what they do and how we all work together to make our community a better place. I know my kids and I are excited to see the medical helicopter land, the fire trucks, and to thank our community heroes for all they do.”
Yang Rohr will welcome a number of community partners and service providers, including 360 Youth Services, Air Methods Medical Helicopter, Alive Center, BeSMART for Kids, Bridge Communities, Chicagoland Babywearing, Dental Hygienists, DuPage County Health Department, DuPage PADS, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, Forest Preserve District of Will County, Illinois Attorney General, Loaves and Fishes, Metropolitan Family Services, Metropolitan Family Shelter Services, Naperville Fire Department, Naperville Police Department, Naperville Area Humane Society, Naperville Settlement, Naperville Park District, Naperville Public Library, Ride Assist Naperville, Warrenville Fire Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Department.
