ZION, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is announcing a “Shred Day” event to be held Saturday, August 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Zion City Hall, 2828 Sheridan Road. Residents are encouraged to bring sensitive documents which they do not wish to keep. Shredders will be available to securely dispose of these documents.

“Personal information can be used by thieves to steal a person’s identity,” Mason said. “Securely storing sensitive personal documents and properly disposing of those you do not intend to keep is very important. I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to securely dispose of sensitive papers.”

Papers to be disposed of should have staples, clips, or other fasteners removed before arriving.
