PEORIA, Ill. – State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria is encouraging families to bring their kids out to Glen Oak Park on Tuesday, July 19 for summer fun, food and activities – while also offering free back to school supplies and vaccinations.
“With kids home from school, we wanted to offer a fun, free event for children,” Gordon-Booth said. “Like a classic fun fair, this will bring the community together while not forcing parents to open up the wallet. As we look ahead to the start of a new school year, we will also have free school supplies and vaccination services available.”
Targeted toward kids and families, One Peoria will give area children an opportunity to enjoy carnival treats – including popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy – as well as bounce houses, an obstacle course and other fun activities. The Peoria City/County Health Department will be on hand to offer back to school and COVID-19 immunizations from 1-3 p.m. Free backpacks and school supplies will also be available, with priority given to the first 200 children.
